Use zeebox as a remote control for your XFINITY set-top box
You can use zeebox to change channels on your XFINITY set-top box. Neat!
- When you first use zeebox you'll be asked for your ZIP code, your TV provider and the type of TV package you have. Your TV package is the channel lineup for your account.
- If you selected Comcast, you will be given the option to set up your XFINITY remote with zeebox. To do so, click "Sign in with XFINITY", and enter your XFINITY login.
- We'll then ask you which device you want to control. (If you want to change this later you can do this easily in zeebox's Settings menu - under Remote Control.)
- And you're done! Tapping the main image on any program page or the channel in the guide will now tune your chosen device to the correct channel.
I'm not seeing the XFINITY sign-in screen
You'll only see this screen if you've selected Comcast as a provider. You’ll have a chance to sign in to XFINITY the first time you set up the zeebox app - or if you skipped it then, the first time you click the XFINITY logo in the app. To change your provider, just go to Settings within zeebox.
Will my set-top box work with zeebox?

I'm having trouble changing channels
Make sure you are changing the channel of the cable box that you are watching. The cable box name appears in the confirmation overlay when changing channels or within Settings. You can always send a test to your cable box to find out its name from the XFINITY TV app or xfinitytv.com (see http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/mytv/cable-boxes).
zeebox is unable to change the channel when the TV or On Demand Guide is displayed on your TV screen, or if you are watching a recorded show. Exit to live TV and try your request again if you had attempted to tune while in the Guide, menus, On Demand, or while watching a recording.
If you still cannot change channel, try disconnecting XFINITY and signing back in again (you can do this from the Remote Control section of the zeebox app's Settings).
My TV is turning to the wrong channel or a channel is missing
If your cable box is tuning the wrong channel, or you cannot find a channel in your guide, check that you have selected the right TV package (or lineup) in the zeebox app within settings. You can always verify this on http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/tv-listings to see the Comcast recommended lineup for your account.
Also check to see if HD Channels is turned on within zeebox. This will hide SD channels from displaying in your guide if there is also a HD version of the same channel.

I'm not seeing all of the cable boxes in the zeebox app

How can I give my TV a user friendly name?
To change the name of your cable box, go to the XFINITY TV App settings or to xfinitytv.com settings - http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/mytv/cable-boxes . You can set a friendly name and send a test message to your cable box to verify the name for each eligible box on your account.
