Summer is on its way, and in a bid to get ready for beach season, I’ve been cranking out the miles on my exercise bike.

I never got myself the Peloton bike because I didn’t want to commit, but funnily enough I’ve been using the Peloton app on my phone along with my regular exercise bike and put together a sort of DIY Peloton bike.

Their live cycling classes are great, and I wanted to blow up the video onto a larger screen, like my Smart TV. I figured they’d have an app on there.

However, when I started looking for the Peloton app on my Samsung TV, I couldn’t find it.

I tried searching for the app several times and even used different keywords, but it was nowhere to be found.

I learned that Samsung doesn’t have a native Peloton app. But that wasn’t going to stop me.

To get the Peloton app on your Samsung TV, connect a casting device like Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku, or Fire TV Stick to your TV and cast the Peloton workouts to TV from any Peloton device, mobile phone, or computer. 

Peloton App on Samsung TV

Samsung TVs do not have a native Peloton App.

To access the Peloton app on your Samsung TV, you can connect popular streaming devices like Roku, Amazon Fire TV Stick, and Apple TV to your TV and access the Peloton app within them.

In case you do not have any of these streaming devices, you can also access the Peloton app on either the Peloton devices or your mobile phone. 

Peloton app on Peloton devices

The Peloton app is built-in into Peloton devices such as the Peloton Bike, Bike+, and Tread. 

These devices are designed specifically for Peloton workouts and come pre-installed with the Peloton app. You can directly access and start your workouts without needing to download the app separately.

Peloton app on mobile devices

To use the Peloton app on your smartphone or tablet, you will need to download and install the app from the relevant app store. 

The Peloton app is available for download on both iOS and Android devices.

Note: Some features and workouts may be limited on devices other than Peloton’s hardware.

Once you can access the Peloton app on the device you are using, you can cast the Peloton app on your Samsung TV.

Cast Peloton App to Samsung TV

You can cast the Peloton app from your Peloton Bike, Peloton Bike+, Peloton Tread, or the Peloton app on your mobile device.

Note: Your Samsung TV needs to have an in-built cast feature like Miracast or you need to use a compatible casting device like Chromecast, Roku, and others. 

Whether you can cast the Peloton app to your Samsung TV or not depends on the combination of the device you are using and the casting capabilities of your TV.

Before you begin the cast, make sure your Samsung TV and the device you are using the Peloton app on are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. 

To cast the Peloton app from your Peloton devices:

1. Open the Peloton app on your Peloton device or mobile device.
2. Choose the workout class you want to cast to your TV.
3. Tap the Cast icon on the screen.

Note: For some Peloton devices, you may need to swipe up on the screen to access the Cast option.

4. Select your TV from the list of available devices.

Your Peloton workout session will now be visible on your Samsung TV.

In case you are accessing the Peloton workouts on your browser, you can cast your browser to Samsung TV using the below steps.

1. Open the Peloton workout you want in Google Chrome.
2. Click on the three-dots icon in the top-right corner of the browser window.
3. Click on Cast from the drop-down menu.
4. Select your Samsung TV from the list of available devices.

Note: If prompted, click Enable to allow Google Chrome to access your device’s location.

5. Select the Cast tab option from the Sources menu.
6. Select the tab you have opened the Peloton workout on.
7. Click Start casting.

Once the casting starts, you can control the workout from your device, and the video and audio will play on your TV.

Connect Your Mobile or Computer to Samsung TV via HDMI

In case you are not able to cast the Peloton app to your Samsung TV, you can also physically connect your mobile or computer to your TV using an HDMI cable.

Note: To use this method, you need an HDMI adapter or cable that’s compatible with your mobile/tablet’s charging port.

To connect your mobile, tablet, or computer to a Samsung TV:

1. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI adapter/cable 
2. Connect the other end of the cable to an available HDMI input on your Samsung TV.
3. Connect the HDMI adapter/cable to your mobile/tablet’s charging port or your computer’s HDMI port.
4. Switch your Samsung TV’s source to the HDMI input you connected the cable to

Your mobile, tablet, or computer screen should appear on the TV.

You can then open the Peloton app on your device and start your workout. It will be visible on both your Samsung TV and your device.

Open Peloton Classes in Samsung TV’s Browser

Some Samsung TVs come with a built-in web browser that allows you to browse the internet directly on your TV. 

Note: The availability of the web browser varies by model and region, so you should check your TV’s user manual or the Samsung website to confirm whether your specific model supports a web browser.

If your Samsung TV supports a web browser, you can access your Peloton workouts directly on your TV.

To access the Peloton app in a web browser on your Samsung TV:

1. Press the Smart Hub button on your TV remote.
2. Select the Web Browser icon using the arrow buttons on your remote.
3. Use the on-screen keyboard to open the Peloton classes you want.

Once Peloton opens in your browser, you can log in to your Peloton account and access all the classes directly on your Samsung TV. 

Your Peloton Classes are Just One Click Away 

I was upset I couldn’t just install a native Peloton App onto my Samsung TV.

And so, it came as a relief when I was able to cast the Peloton app from my mobile to my Samsung TV. 

While it was supposed to be a straightforward process, I had to take a couple of extra steps. Because the cast option in my Samsung TV was turned off, I had to enable it from the TV’s settings before I was able to successfully cast the Peloton app.

Once it was set up, I could access the Peloton classes on TV by just clicking on the cast icon.
